This piece, composed on the theme of water, descends into the mythological depths of musician-singer, explorer peoples of Amerindian music and culture. So, far from any mystical exoticism, Passeurs d’Eau offers a very contemporary interpretation of concepts issuing from shamanistic thinking, and in a certain way tells the story of the Conquest, the clash of civilisations, stressing the duality of two philosophical approaches, at some times complementary and at others violently opposed.
