Nara, broadcast by an orchestra of loudspeakers, is a vast resounding fresco which does away with time and everyday reference points. We are plunged into a world of sound inhabited by litanies, chants, incantations, bells and their ringing, pipes and conches, singing and clamour, burning torches and dancing, people wandering about, falling and running madly. This work opens up for us the universe of eleven officiating Buddhists in the intimacy of their sanctuary in Japan in so many mysteries for a fantastic opera or an imaginary ritual.
Created with the Festival 38e Rugissants in December 2001. Government order. Production: SAM (Toulouse) and of the INA - GRM |
