Zarani is halfway between a spell and pure poetry. Fadia Tomb El Hage, one of Lebanon’s most beautiful voices, lends her rare, dark, feline voice to Arabo-Andalusian mouwashahs, some of which are extremely old. Zad Moultaka has rewritten and chiselled them, making them suitable for the lute and percussion instruments, countered and extended by the piano.
