The art of the Lebanese composer Zad Moultaka is rooted in the contradictions between western writing and Arab oral transmission, associating polyphonic writing and melodic linearity. His exploration of these musical and cultural histories and his open, unprejudiced approach to writing allow him to make these two universes meet.
